In Memoriam

The Godfrey Stewart Pasmore MEMORIAL FUND

Godfrey Stewart Pasmore

Godfrey Pasmore worked tirelessly in his latter years to fulfill his vision of creating an institution which would preserve Canada’s aviation heritage with particular attention to Quebec’s contribution to  our rich aviation history. Along with likeminded volunteers he founded the Canadian Aviation Heritage Centre in 1998 to raise the public’s awareness of aviation’s contribution to Canadian life. The CAHC  opened to the public in 2009.  Godfrey’s vision, leadership and tenacity were major factors in realizing today’s Montreal Aviation Museum, Quebec’s only aviation museum devoted to both civil and military aviation.

Sadly, Godfrey passed away on March 12, 2016

Contributions to the museum to honour the memory of Godfrey Pasmore will help the Montreal Aviation Museum pursue Godfrey’s dream. We thank you for your support.

Godfrey S. Pasmore

e48b4355 0c5a 4381 adc1 4c919d1361fdIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the Canadian Aviation Heritage Centre's founder - Godfrey Pasmore. Godfrey "slipped the surly bonds of earth" on Saturday March 12, 2016, following a lengthy illness.
Without Godfrey's passion, dedication, commitment and vision, there would not be an aviation museum in Montreal. His memory will live on through generations to come as his beloved aviation museum continues to grow and tell the stories of Quebec's rich aviation heritage.
A special memorial ceremony to honour Godfrey's life will be held at the Montreal Aviation Museum (Canadian Aviation Heritage Centre) on Saturday April 2, 2016. More details will be forthcoming soon.
Please join the Board of Directors in conveying our most sincere condolences to the family.
